James was invited recently to a media briefing with the now permanent chief executive of the Rugby Football League, Ralph Rimmer.
It follows on from a previous briefing earlier this year, not long after Rimmer had taken the interim reins following the departure of Nigel Wood.
As editor of Love Rugby League, James was joined by a number of top rugby league journalists from national and trade publications to quiz the RFL chief on the issues facing rugby league.
As always, it was a pleasure to be involved and some useful insights gained – my opinion is that these events are transparent, any questions are allowed, and whatever your opinion on rugby league, it is good to have.
