Alwaysmining and Signalman tops poll of probable 2019 preakness stakes contenders

The recently concluded Kentucky Derby last May 4 was the first controversial racing result that was recorded in the history for almost century and a half. The Grade 1 Stakes winner Country House was declared as the winner due to Maximum Security disqualification. By the time Country House declared as a winner, he earned the most favorite votes of being the next Triple Crown winner and tops the list of the best contenders with unibet sports betting for the Preakness Stakes which is the middle jewel of the Triple Crown.

While this is all true, the high hopes of Bill Mott, Country House trainer for this year’s Triple Crown may not come true. It’s a quite sad incident for Maximum Security and for this reason he also was shipped back from where he was bred and will not head on to the Preakness Stakes. In other words, Country Horse and Maximum Security will no longer meet in Pimlico Park. The first horse won’t join because he’s ill while the second one was disappointed with his disqualification.

While the Kentucky Derby result was full of controversies, the Preakness Stakes organization makes sure that this won’t happen again. That said, here are the most popular horse racers that will run for the “Blacked-Eyed Susans” on May 18. These 2019 Preakness Stakes picks are based on the confirmation of the horse racers, trainers, and owners as they are going to surely run in Pimlico Park.

The first one in Anothertwistafate who had confirmed his early ticket to the Preakness. He is the winner of the El Camino Derby. Signalman who missed the derby will head on to Pimlico which placed third in Grade 2 Blue Grass. Also, War of Will who took part in the derby which finishes in seventh place confirms for the Preakness. Sueno, being the third placer in Louisiana Derby earned his Preakness ticket along with Bodexpress which placed  13th in the Kentucky Derby.

Moreover, Alwaysmining, a superstar in Federico Tesio held in Laurel Park deems the most favorite entry for the Preakness Stakes. Other significant thoroughbreds who also confirm their entry in Pimlico are Bourbon War (Garde 2 Fountain of Youth winner), Mr. Money (Pat Day Mile), Owendale (Blue Grass winner) and Laughing Fox (Oaklawn Invitational winner).

Furthermore, Code of Honor which was a runner-up in the Kentucky Derby might consider joining this years’ Preakness Stakes according to his trainer Shug McGaughey. This colt is scheduled to go back to Belmont Park in which his owner will be the one to decide if he’s going to run for the Preakness.

In addition, Hall of Fame Bob Baffert is still undecided for the  2019 Preakness Stakes. He mentioned during an interview that he will still be deciding in a few more days if he will be sent out these three main entries who also took part in the Kentucky Derby. Game Winner placed fifth, Improbable secures the fourth spot, and Roadster was on the fifteenth place.

Although it’s quite a big decision for Country House not to run for the Preakness Stakes, his trainer won’t take the risk because he’s still ill and might not survive if he runs in Pimlico. Some horse racing fans are disappointed because they are looking forward to a possible Triple Crown winner this year. Despite the fact that controversies took place in the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness Stakes still holds an exciting racing tournament for the record.

Regardless of the absence of Maximum Security and Country House for the Preakness Stakes  2019, the horse racers who will join the “Run for the Black-Eyed Susans” will still put up a great show. Take note that they are achievers and superstars of big horse racing tournaments and some are even placers in the Kentucky Derby so the betting games and prizes at stake remain the same or even higher.
