Scotland RL secures sponsorship deal

Scotland Rugby League have agreed a new four-year sponsorship deal with Caledonian Brewery brand Deuchars IPA.

As well as appearing on all Scotland adult representative playing kit, including at the next World Cup, Deuchars IPA will also take naming rights of the National League in Scotland.

Scotland reached the quarter-finals of last autumn’s World Cup, where they were beaten by eventual finalists New Zealand, but were hit by the withdrawal of RFL funding shortly after the tournament.

Scotland Rugby League’s Performance Manager Ollie Cruickshank said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with an iconic Scottish brand like Deuchars IPA. Rugby League is a growing sport in Scotland and its support will help us raise the profile of our activities both nationally and internationally.”

The agreement takes the form of a mixture of financial support and support in kind across all levels of rugby league.

Andy Maddock, Managing Director, Caledonian Brewery said “Our sponsorship of the Scotlandinternational team during the recent World Cup was a great success. We experienced a very positive response from consumers, not just in Scotland, but around the world, so this is a tremendous agreement for Deuchars IPA.

“We want to support grass roots adult sport and also support Scotland on the international stage, so to be involved with a growing sport like rugby league in Scotland is a great opportunity. This agreement enables us to connect with current and future Deuchars consumers and gain extra exposure for the brand.”
